A key focus in cosplay is accuracy. To look exactly like your character, you'll need accurate images. I recommend Google, fansites, or other cosplayers.

Artbook Scans

The BEST source for any video gamer or anime cosplayer are artbooks and strategy guides. They have full dress renders and stats, but sometimes lack back or side shots you need. However, you can play this by ear since no one knows what the back looks like.

Screencaps

Screencaps can be fuzzy or unclear, but sometimes these are the only ways to get views from your game/anime character that the artbooks or manga didn't have. You can take these yourself or search for them. Use substitute words:

  1. screenshots
  2. screencaps
  3. screen captures
  4. movie stills
  5. FMV shots

Other Cosplayers

Cosplayers who have done this costume before you will probably be your best unofficial reference. Most cosplayers usually have side-views, back shots, and front caps. This is a way to see all aspects of the costume, but unfortunately, you must ensure that their costume is accurate.

Use showcase engines mentioned in Showcases.

Having Problems?

Feel free to e-mail me at nano_starr@metrodesic.com if you have questions, concerns, problems, comments...anything! I'm pretty easy to talk to. If you want to affiliate, you can do that via email as well.
