I'm ready to stab you with my polymer clay
What's a cosplayer without her materials? You need these to create your
character, so grab your vinyl and pop-rivet and start praying.
Props
For Staves or Rods, I recommend using a PVC base with Sculpey for add-ons.
Once again, creativity is a major role here, and I can't exactly help you. If
you're making a prop, cruise though Michael's or JoAnn's for something that
floats your boat. Gems bigger than a quarter can be found at utility stores or
at fishbowl places. Go fish gems^^
Fabric
Hancock's. I'm sorry, but Hancock Fabrics ownz. Wal-Mart has some nice stuff,
but an on-site store is Hancock's. Tons of fabrics can be sold on the 'net, but
the colour or texture varies for each monitor.
Patterns
JoAnn's, Hancock, Wal-Mart or Target sell Simplicity patterns, McCall's, Vogue,
Butterick...ect. See Altering Patterns for more.
Wig styling
This is the fun part. Buy a wig in the colour you want and at the longest length
you need. Using scissors, you can alter the length. Use a flat iron to
straighten it, on low heat. With synthetic hair, everything is low heat. Water
can straighten, too. You can use extensions on wigs, or glue excess hair to head
bands (Rikku, FFX-2) or onto the wig. Find a tutorial first^^
See? Not a trace of store! Except for the wig itself, hee hee! I like
Amphigory, Wow Wigs, Which Wig, or Katie Bair's wigs. See Wigs for more.
Having Problems?
Feel free to e-mail me at nano_starr@metrodesic.com
if you have questions, concerns, problems, comments...anything! I'm pretty easy
to talk to. If you want to affiliate, you can do that via email as well.
